STEP 1 - GATHER CONTENT

Browsing:

Problem Sets from Current Edition
Click on the folders to browse the full list of problem sets from the most recent edition of the Hibbeler textbook. They are organized by sections within chapters that correspond to this title. To browse, click on a chapter folder, open a section folder, then click "Current Problems".

Many problems are also identified by degree of difficulty: Easy, Moderate, Difficult. A “Problem Difficulty” legend appears at the bottom of the window.

Symbols
An effort has been made to include some problems that may be solved using a numerical procedure executed on either a desktop computer or a programmable pocket calculator. The intent here is to broaden the student’s capacity for using other forms of mathematical analysis without sacrificing the time needed to focus on the application of the principles of mechanics. Problems of this type, which either can or must be solved using numerical procedures, are identified by a “square” symbol [] preceding the problem.

If a bullet (•) precedes the problem number, then a suggestion, key equation, or additional numerical result is given along with the answer.

An asterisk (*) before a problem number indicates a problem without an answer.

Alternative Problem Sets
Additional problem sets are also organized by sections within chapters that correspond to the current Hibbeler textbook. To browse, click on a chapter folder then open a section folder. If additional problem sets are available for that section they are located in the folder identified as ‘Additional Problems’. Open this folder to browse the full list of alternative problem sets for that section.

Many problems are also identified by degree of difficulty: Easy, Moderate, Difficult. A “Problem Difficulty” legend appears at the bottom of the window.

Selecting Content
Select the checkbox in the left-hand column to add a problem to your custom book.
Note: Once selected, the checkbox will be marked and the selected question and estimated page count will automatically update. The corresponding estimated net price that appears on ‘Step 4: Review & Submit’ includes the core “book block” of the current edition of the Hibbeler textbook, which is $85.00 for Statics and Dynamics and $112.00 for the Combined Statics and Dynamics. It also includes a .15 per page cost for the custom problem set.

Previewing Problems, Answers, and Solutions
Highlight your problem to view a snapshot of it, the answer, or the solution. To enlarge the view of any of these simply click on the box in which they are displayed. To close the window, click on the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the enlargement.

Searching Content
Search by keyword or concepts (section titles). Once you have made selections from your search results, click on the ‘Back’ button to return to the main problem set. The selections you make from the search screen results will automatically save and migrate to the main problem set.
